In celebration of Earth Day, we are proud to reaffirm our dedication to sustainable practices within the offshore wind community. Within PKR Offshore Co., Ltd. & Marco Polo Marine Ltd., our Sustainability Management Committee has outlined key targets and initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goasl (SDGs), aiming for full implementation and achievement by 2030. This commitment underscores our role as a leader in environmental stewardship and our resolve to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our operations.
  1. Climate Change: Our unwavering commitment to significantly reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2030 is at the forefront of our initiatives. We are focused on enhancing climate resilience, boosting education and awareness on climate change, and integrating climate-related risks into our risk management framework.
  2. Waste Management & Recycling: By 2030, we aim to achieve a 45% recycling rate in our offshore operations and a 20% recycling rate at our shipyards. Our initiatives include comprehensive waste reduction programs, innovative recycling initiatives, and sustainable procurement practices.
  3. Clean Energy: We are committed to generating a stable supply of energy, with a target to source a minimum of 10% of our operational energy from renewable sources. Additionally, we strive to reduce electricity consumption by 5% by 2030. Our action plan includes integrating solar panels into our supply chain, exploring partnerships with renewable energy providers, and implementing energy monitoring systems.
  4. Biodiversity: Our goal is to ensure zero environmental fines and penalties by 2030 and to conduct annual CSR activities focused on marine and coastal conservation.

Together with SEMI Taiwan, we are poised to drive significant change, reduce our carbon footprint, and inspire others to join us in our mission for a cleaner, greener world. Each of us has a role to play, and by embracing our roles as environmental stewards, we can collectively create a sustainable future. 🌱
