At PKR Offshore Co., Ltd, advancing women’s careers is integrated into our daily operations. Today, on board our newly commissioned ROC-flagged CSOV, MP Wind Archer, three outstanding female seafarers, are proving that leadership, technical expertise, and resilience know no gender. In Taiwan’s offshore wind sector, women account for around 26% of the workforce, but forms only a small 1-2% of the seafarers pool.
These women seafarers are navigating complex vessel operations and upholding safety practices, as part of their daily activities in the offshore wind farm — all with the technical ability, courage, and resilience that defines what it means to work at sea. So, what drew them to this growing offshore wind industry in Taiwan?

Throughout the Company, whether offshore or onshore, we continue to value diversity as we strive to create an inclusive culture, aligning with UN SDG 5 to achieve gender equality, and set a higher benchmark for Taiwan’s offshore wind industry. We hope our story will inspire friends and colleagues alike, to empower and create opportunities for the next generation of women seafarers, so that more women can build rewarding careers out at sea!
